May Fayre Dr Bike, Local Transport Survey and May Group Rides

Hello BuzzCylcists, I hope like me you’re managing to get out on your bike despite the unseasonably cold weather! We’ve already been on our first group ride of the year, if you’ve missed the ride report helpfully written by fellow ride leader Paul, you can find it here. News on future rides coming soon!

Just a couple of quick announcements for you today.

May and June Group Rides

As you may have already seen, we have had our first group ride of the year earlier in April. We’ll be running more group rides in May and June. In May we’re intending to run an evening group ride every Wednesday evening at 18:30, meeting at the market cross at the top of Leighton Buzzard High Street. The first ride is on the 1st of May and will be about three miles. If these proove popular we’ll consider running such rides for the rest of the summer.

Besides that, we’re planning on leading group rides ever second Saturday of the month from 9:30AM, distance to suit those who turn up, but a minimum of about ten miles. Keep an eye on our website and facebook page to stay up to date.

May Fayre Dr Bike

We’re back running our Dr Bike free 20 minute bicycle health check sessions for the month of May, this time at the May Fayre on Parsons Close Recreation Ground. Here’s the poster:

Please feel free to copy or print the poster and share it with others you think might appreciate having their bike checked. Follow this link to book your bike health check slot. Here’s a photo of last year’s May Fayre stall

See you soon!

Central Bedfordshire Council Local Transport Plan

Our local authority Central Bedfiordshire Council are currently running a local transport plan survey. We’d encourage you to fill it out so you can help shape the future of the town’s cycling and walking infrastructure. If you’ve got a problem nearby for your commute or other regular trip such as buying groceries or something similar, this is another good opportunity to get your voice heard.
