Route Summary
This 3.5 mile ride route starts at the Fly Past Monument, a tribute to plane manufacturing for aircraft such as the Vimy Bomber Biplane. Most of the route is along well surfaced shared use cycle paths. The route is suitable for all types of bikes. You will travel on the cycle friendly canal towpath, into Tiddenfoot Riverside Park.
Tiddenfoot Riverside Park was a sand quarry but has now reverted to nature with wild plants and animals. Can you find the wood carvings in Park (hint its under a bridge)
After using the surfaced paths of the park, you return along the old Leighton Buzzard to Dunstable Railway to Grovebury Road. The Grovebury shared use path is narrow, so take it slowly and give way to pedestrians.
To finish the route, you pass through Parsons Close Park with its café, toilets, skate park, and inclusive play area. The final leg of your journey is to the centre of Leighton Buzzard, where you can take refreshments at one of the many cafes or bars.
