Leighton Linslade Cycling Plan to be discussed at LLTC + Bike Buddies and Group Rides

I’m feeling inspired – I’ve just watched this video on YouTube:

Lillian and Aaron’s house move – by bicycle!

Honestly I’m jealous that they have such a big cycling community like that. I’ve been getting my fix of cycling community lately by travelling to London…I’ve struggled with trying to work out how to create something similar in Leighton Buzzard and Linslade. It’s difficult!

I’d love to organise some rides through it, but it needs people to join for that of course!

LCWIP to be discussed at Town Council Planning and Transport Committee meeting

We’ve got a meeting for you to attend at the White House in Leighton Buzzard. The Town Council will be discussing Central Bedfordshire Council’s Local Cycling and Walking Plan. You can make a three minute speech at the beginning. I think I’ll be making a point about bicycles being more space efficient than cars, and it’s the only way we can reduce congestion across town. The BuzzCycles committee will be attending, but we’d love to see you there too. The meeting starts here on Wednesday the 13th of December at 19:30. There are cycle racks, but only a couple, if lots of people turn up, we can just lock our bikes to each other’s. Please come along and make your voices heard!

Social rides and “Cycle Buddies”

Just a quick one, who would be interested in some group rides in the spring/summer? What about a cycle buddies, where you have someone help you get used to cycling in town? Here’s London Cycling Campaign’s page on the subject, would you be interested in us running such a system? Either as a “buddy” or one of the people whose confidence cycling needs a little help? Please let us know, here’s our contact us page.
