Learn to Cycle & More: Celebrating Great Big Green Week 2026

As cyclists, we already know that choosing two wheels is one of the best ways to keep our town green, clean, and healthy. This June, Leighton Buzzard is celebrating the national Great Big Green Week (6th – 14th June) under the banner “Together for Good,” and there are some fantastic opportunities to celebrate active travel and community action right on our doorstep.

Whether you want to sharpen your riding skills, help a neighbour get back in the saddle, or dive into local eco-events, here is everything you need to know.

🚲 Learn to Ride for All Ages

The standout event for cycling is happening on Sunday 14th June at Astral Park. The team at Cycle4Life has been delivering accredited local cycle training since 2009 and is fully Bikeability and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) trained. This means the sessions are completely inclusive, supportive, and adapted to every individual’s pace. Whether it’s a child getting on two wheels for the first time or an adult looking to rediscover their balance, it’s a fantastic, zero-pressure environment to build real confidence.

Session Times & Location

Two distinct sessions are running on the day. You can find the coaches located just outside the Astral Park Pavilion right by the car park:

  • 1:00 pm: Children’s Session (Ages 4 and over)
  • 2:00 pm: Mixed Adult & Child Session

Essential FAQs Before You Attend

  • Cost: The Astral Park taster session is completely free. (If you wish to continue with further private lessons after this event, those will be charged).
  • Bike Condition: Please bring along your bike in a usable condition with fully working brakes and tyres pumped up.
  • Stabilisers: Stabilisers must be removed before the session starts.
  • Safety: Helmets must be worn by all participants.

How to Book Your Space

Places are strictly limited. To secure a spot, you must email [email protected] as soon as possible. Becky will reply with a mandatory consent form, which must be fully filled in and emailed back to accept and finalize your booking slot.
