Lower Ascott is higher than Leighton Buzzard, but this route saves the climbing for Well Lane. Well lane is a peaceful lane that starts off on the level with open views and a lovely stream to cross. It has a steepish segment through Lower Ascott which will require some fitness or simply push you bike for the steep section.

Return from the top of Well Lane is via the cycle path alongside Wing Road. Take care as you cross the Leighton Buzzard bypass where you will find cycle crossing points have been provided.

The route finishes at the edge of Leighton Buzzard where you can take refreshments at one of the many cafes or bars
