Route Summary

This 10-mile (16km) route takes you to Wing (via the cycle path alongside Wing Road) followed by the wonderful views of the Park Gate as you leave Wing. Return is via Ledburn and the lovely countryside west of Leighton Buzzard.

You pass close to the boundary of Ascott House and Grounds and it is well worth a visit if open (usually from March)

Wing is higher than Leighton Buzzard so you need to ascent the hill out of Leighton Buzzard (via cycle path) to Wing but the views are well worth once you reach Wing and Park Gate.

Take care as you cross the Leighton Buzzard Bypass where you will find cycle crossing points have been provided.

Once you reach the top of Park Gate it is worth pausing a moment to admire the spectacular southerly views to Mentmore ridge, Mentmore Towers (1850s) and beyond to the Chiltern Escarpment

You return via Ledburn and then Leighton Road, shortly after passing under the railway bridge you reach the junction of Leighton Road and the B488. Turn Right and descend approximately 50yards, taking it slowly, turn sharp left onto the bridle path under the by-pass and back into town via Mentmore Road, Mentmore Gardens, the Blackbridge Path, Grovebury Road and the cycle path through Parsons Close
